Engineering Career- How to Enter The Profession

There are three levels for studying Engineering in India- Under Graduate Studies, PG and PhD apart from the diploma programmes at ITI and Polytechnic. There are at least 50- plus entrance exams conducted by various universities. The biggest entrance exam is the JEE (Main) & JEE (Advance). 

There are States that conduct entrance tests separately through their hogher and technical departments to admit students. Some of the big universities such as VIT, SRM, Amrita, Manipal, BITS Pilani and UPES too conduct their own exam.

Dominated by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), now 22 in number, this domain has the highest share in contributing to the number of publications. The NITs, previously known as regional engineering college, are the next-most- preferred choice for students willing to pursue a BE/B.Tech course.
