Both public and private sectors offer tremendous job opportunities to Plastic Technologists in the field of production and marketing of plastic commodities. Plastic technologists also play a significant role in the key sectors of the economy including agriculture and water management, automobiles and transportation, building and construction, telecommunication and electronics, defense and aerospace, computers, power transmissions and even in manufacture of artificial limbs.

Other skills include using logic to examine ideas and develop theories and explanations, solving skills and curiosity.

Eligibility

Candidates, who have successfully completed the 10+2 examinations, with a background in Science, are eligible for the BE/B.Tech courses in Plastic Technology. The eligibility criterion for the M.Tech program in Plastic Technology is a B.Tech/BE degree in Chemical, Plastics, Rubber, Mechanical or Textiles Engineering. Candidates with an M.Sc degree in Chemistry or Physics are also eligible for the M.Tech program in Plastic Technology. Candidates who have qualified GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam will find it an advantage for admission to the M.Tech course. For research work, a Masters of PhD would be essential.
