The Indian hospitality and hotel management industry is doing quite well. People are traveling to India for medical treatment at various five star hospitals, they are coming here for destination wedding at heritage resorts and even the wellness tourism is picking up. This, in turn, has increased the demand for hotel management graduates by manifold which is not only confined to the bigger chains and hotels but has also moved to smaller budget hotels and independent hotels and restaurants. With a booming hospitality industry, it’s no wonder that hospitality studies too are on an upswing in India. In line with the demand, more than 500 institutions offer courses in hospitality, ranging from short- term to undergraduate, masters and above.
Unlike other streams of studies, hospitality offers diverse courses suited for diverse job roles. However, the catch is that one should opt for a course for which he or she has a passion. If you dream to become a chef, the first thing you should ask yourself is whether you love food from the bottom of your heart.
