National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), set up in 1986 under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India is a statutory Institute governed by the NIFT Act 2006. NIFT is a prestigious institute for providing high standards in fashion education for the students who aspire to earn and build a career in the textile and apparel industry. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in fashion design, textile design, leather design, accessory design, fashion communication and apparel production. NID-DAT

National Institute of Design (NID), set up in 1961, under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. NID India’s premier and first design institute has been declared Institute of National Importance by the Act of Parliament, by virtue of the National Institute of Design Act. NID offers professional education programmes at Bachelors and Masters and Ph.D level with five faculty streams Industrial Design, Communication Design, Textile, Apparel & Lifestyle Design, IT integrated (Experiential) Design and Interdisciplinary Design Studies.

CEED-IITs

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is an all-India examination conducted by IIT Bombay, on behalf of the Ministry of HRD for admission to Master of Design courses offered at four IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati and Kanpur). The test assesses your aptitude for design, involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity and communication skills.

Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) is a design aptitude test examining color, geometry, visual observation, creative thinking abilities, general design awareness, awareness on Indian culture, craft and traditions etc. Based on candidates performance in the SEED Exam, they are offered admission in Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs offered in disciplines such as Graphic Design, Video Film Design, Animation Film Design, User Experience Design, Product Design, Interior Space Design, Fashion Design and Fashion Communication offered at SID.
