Eligibility
One must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks to do a course in Hotel Management from a reputed professional institute. It is better to go for institutes registered under National Council of Hotel Management offering 3 years Diploma course in Hotel Management. Alternatively one can pursue Hotel Management course from an institute run by some reputed hotel chains. There are certain private institutes as well who have foreign affiliations and approvals from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which offer 4 years Bachelor’s programs. Then again one can go and get trained abroad at a renowned institute. To get admission in these institutes and entrance test is conducted that comprises of subjects like English, reasoning, general science d general knowledge. The test is followed by group discussion and an interview. Select institutes include institutes of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Goa; The Welcome Group Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal; The Oberoi Center of learning and Development, New Delhi and The Indian Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad.
